These terms apply to all bookings with Stardust Dance Academy (“Stardust”, “we”, “us”).By creating an account, booking a class, paying fees, or permitting a student to attend a class, you confirm that you are legally able to enter into this agreement and you accept these Terms & Conditions on behalf of yourself and the student. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not book or attend.
• Operator: Stardust Dance Academy (sole trader: Hannah Batchelor).
• Safeguarding lead (DSL): Hannah Batchelor.

• Half-Term: A block of weeks with set dates. May vary between 5-7 weeks.Auto-renew: We keep your child’s place for the next term unless you tell us to stop.Opt out: You tell us your child will not continue next term.
• Make-up class: Another class you can attend instead of a missed one (if space allows).
• Credits: Money added to your Stardust Studio Pro account to use on future fees.
• Responsible adult: Parent, guardian, or another named adult.
• Parent & child class: A special class where the parent is present and is expected to fully engage with their child at all times.
• Independent class: The child is released to Stardust and classes are conducted without the responsible adult present.
• Student: a child (under 18) or adult who participates in classes run by Stardust
• Studio Portal: The booking system for classes via a mobile app or web browser. Used for registration, bookings, payment.
• Stardust Staff: Persons acting on behalf of a Stardust in various capacities such as dance teacher, classroom assistant, volunteer, chaperones. They may be a paid member of staff, or an independent contractor.
• Watching Week: Typically the last week of a half-term. This is where family members of child students are invited into the dance studio to watch a short performance. By invitation only and only for selected classes.
• Half-Term bookings (in-person): classes on set dates and times.
• Trials and workshops: one-off sessions.
• Events: one-off events showcasing performances. (Invite only, RSVP required)
• For half-term bookings on set dates (a “leisure service”), the usual 14-day cooling-off right does not apply.
• Trials and workshops are non-refundable once taken.
• Your other legal rights still apply (see Section 16).
• To book a place in a class please use the Studio Portal to make all bookings.
• If a class is full you will be able to register for a place on a waitlist.
• The offer of a class place from a waitlist is solely at the discretion of Stardust.
• If a trial class offer is made this trial must be taken within the next two available classes.
• Enrolment on a trial class will guarantee a place in that class for a period of five days following the trial.
• If an existing child student, we auto-renew your child’s place each next half-term to give continuity.
• We invoice before the new half-term.If you do not want to continue, please opt out by the last day of your current half-term (preferably before your last class).
• If you opt out on time, we release the place to the waiting list and you will not be billed for the next half-term.
• If you do not pay by the due date, we may offer the place to the waiting list.
• We do not auto-renew adult class places. It is for each adult to rebook their class places at the end of each half-term for the following half-term.
• An adult class is specifically four persons aged 18 and over. If a young person (under 18 years of age) wishes to attend an adult class this may be done in agreement with Stardust.
• Fees are billed per half-term/term, and payment is required in advance in full prior to the commencement of all classes, to be paid before the new term starts.
• The preferred payment method is by card in the Studio Pro parent portal; cheques are not accepted, but cash may be in special circumstances.
• If a bill is overdue, attendance may be paused until it is paid.
• If you are experiencing temporary financial difficulty, please contact Stardust to arrange a payment plan to continue with classes.
• Stardust may occasionally receive or facilitate Grant funding via the local County Council or other bodies, and also runs its own sparkle fund to provide access to dance for those who would not normally be able.
• Please check with Stardust regarding your eligibility for local government grant funding, as evidence of support may be required.
• If we cancel: We may change teachers, venues, or times locally. If we must cancel a class and cannot offer a reasonable make-up in the same half-term, we will credit your account for that class. If you prefer, we can refund to card (rare but available).
• If you miss a class: Missed classes are not refundable. If space allows, we may offer a like-for-like make-up in the same half-term (not guaranteed).
• Goodwill credits may sometimes be made to families in the event of cancelled classes. These credits may be transferred between the family members if applicable. These credits cannot be taken as a refund.
• In the unusual event that a refund will be granted and if the reason for the refund is caused by the student then a 5% financial service charge will be deducted from the refund.
• Emergency closures: Stardust will not be liable for any failure to perform its obligations caused by events beyond our reasonable control (including severe weather, venue closure, epidemic/pandemic measures, strikes, government orders, or other force majeure events). If a class is cancelled for such reasons we will seek to offer a credit, an online alternative, or a make-up where reasonably possible. If a force majeure event continues for more than 28 days, either party may terminate the affected classes without liability; in such cases we will offer appropriate credits or refunds for any services not delivered.
• We do not run regular classes on UK bank holidays.
• Be respectful to teachers and classmates.No food or gum in class. Water in a named bottle is welcome.
• Phones off and away during class.
• Wear the correct uniform (see our uniform guide).
⁃ Or where not able, wear appropriate dancewear for all classes.
⁃ Stardust operates an online store where uniforms can be purchased although this is not compulsory.
• In the studio, children aged 3+ may participate without a parent present.
• A responsible adult (18+) must remain on-site for children under 13 for the entire class, unless an exception is agreed upon for a specific class or venue.
• We utilise a monitored handover system, releasing students under 13 only to the named adult or a pre-authorised substitute (ID may be requested).
• All responsible adults are expected to be present in the venue for the monitored handover; students will not be released if a parent is waiting outside in a car.
• Students aged 13 and over may arrive and leave independently with parental or guardian permission.
• If a venue has limited waiting space, the local sign-in/out process will be explained while maintaining the adult-on-site rule for under-13s.
• Please be punctual for collection; repeated late collection may lead to a review of your child's place, and a small late-collection fee may be introduced in the future after written warning.
• Responsible adults are to wait in designated waiting areas.
• Responsible adults are only permitted in classes under exceptional circumstances (e.g., difficulty settling a child, distressed child, injury) and not routinely.
• While waiting in designated areas, responsible adults must ensure all siblings and students waiting for classes behave appropriately and do not disturb other users or staff.
• By enrolling a child, you confirm you are their parent or legal guardian and have the authority to accept these Terms, and you must provide and keep accurate student details (including medical/allergy information and emergency contacts) up-to-date in the Studio Portal, as inaccurate or missing information may prevent Stardust from providing safe care.
• Dance is a physical activity, and you confirm your child is fit to participate and will follow safety instructions.
• Please keep medical details up to date in Studio Pro (e.g., allergies, asthma, relevant conditions) for safe teacher planning.
• Staff may administer basic first aid and act in the child's best interests if a parent/guardian cannot be reached quickly, which may include calling 999.
• Stardust will not administer any medication to any student.
• Teachers are unable to assist children in the bathroom.
• If your child has a contagious or infectious medical condition (including but not limited to cold, flu, respiratory issues, COVID-19, or transferable skin infections), please refrain from attending class.
• Stardust will offer hand sanitizer to students after each lesson, which is optional.
• We welcome all students.
• Tell us early about any disability or health need and what helps your child.
• We will make reasonable adjustments where we can.
• We use photos and video for Stardust marketing only where you have given explicit consent during registration in the Studio Portal.
• You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing hello@stardustdanceacademy.com.
• We may record whole-group shows or events, and we will inform you first and explain your options.
• All adults are prohibited from taking photos or videos of classes, with the exception of Watching Week.
• During Watching Week, responsible adults and audience members are permitted to take photos and videos, on the express understanding that these are for personal use only and will not be shared on social media.
• Withdrawal of consent will apply to future uses; it may not be possible to remove images already distributed or published (e.g., printed materials, distributed flyers, or third-party reposts).
⁃ Where practicable, we will remove or stop further use of images from our online channels following a withdrawal request.
• Our choreography, lesson materials, and brand belong to Stardust.
• Any materials we share are for personal, at-home practice only.
• Please do not copy, post online, or use our materials for any business.
• Stardust holds public liability and professional indemnity insurance suitable for dance teaching.
• We are the data controller for your and your child’s personal data.
• Please read our Privacy Policy. It explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and your rights.
• Photos and videos for marketing are used only with consent (see Section 13).
• If you are the recipient of a grant, Stardust may be required to provide feedback and analytical information to the grant provider. This may include name, address, grant eligibility status and grant amount. The grant provider may vary, but can be Cambridge City Council, South Cambridgeshire District Council and/or other providers.
• We will provide our services with reasonable care and skill and as described.
• If we fall short, please tell us. We will re-perform where possible or credit/refund a fair amount.
• We do not limit or exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
• For other loss, our liability is limited to the fees you paid for the affected half-term, unless the law says otherwise.
• Your statutory rights are not affected.

• Please use these email addresses for all queries and correspondence.
• Please don’t rely on social messaging (Facebook Messenger / Instagram) for formal support or complaints, as these channels may not be monitored or provide a reliable audit trail.
• We may contact you by SMS from a UK or USA number in exceptional circumstances (for example urgent class cancellations). We will always identify ourselves and will not disclose personal or sensitive information by text.
• If you have a concern about the content or conduct of a class, interactions between students, or staff conduct, contact Stardust as soon as possible.
• We aim to acknowledge within 48 hours on working days and to resolve as soon as reasonable.
• We may update these terms if the law or our operations change.
• We will give at least 14 days’ notice for important changes.
• If you continue to attend after the notice period, this means you accept the new terms.
• These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
• Any disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales.
• These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Stardust in relation to the supply of classes. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that will not affect the remainder of the Terms which will continue in full force and effect.
• Consumer Rights Act 2015: We promise reasonable care and skill. If we cancel and cannot offer a good make-up class, we give a credit (or refund if you prefer).
• Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013: Our term classes are set-date “leisure services,” so the 14-day cooling-off right does not apply to them.
• Fair contract terms (CMA guidance): Prices are clear. Auto-renew is simple. You can opt out by the last day of your current term. We do not use unfair late fees.
• Liability (UCTA / CRA): We do not limit or exclude liability for death or injury caused by our negligence.
• Equality Act 2010: We make reasonable adjustments for disabled students and those with health needs.
• Safeguarding (DfE best practice): Named DSL, adult-on-site for under-13s, and monitored handover.
• UK GDPR / Data Protection Act 2018: We use photos/videos for marketing only with consent and we explain data use in our Privacy Policy.Payments: We take card payments through Studio Pro (Stripe), which is appropriate for UK card processing.
