Ballet & Jazz

Blending classical technique and modern dance

Ballet technique, Jazz fun

Ballet builds posture, strength and beautiful lines; Jazz adds kicks, turns and dynamic performance to upbeat modern music. Our classes follow the ISTD Classical Ballet Syllabus stating with Primary Ballet and progressing up through the grades.

What Are Ballet & Jazz Classes?

Ballet & Jazz at Stardust balances clean technique with musicality and performance. Ballet follows ISTD standards for alignment, turnout and control; Jazz develops flexibility, stamina and stage presence. We teach with clear progressions, so every dancer knows what comes next.

Classes are grouped by age, experience and ability. Teachers use age-appropriate exercises, safe conditioning and kind guidience—so dancers learn the why as well as the how.

Expect barre and centre work, travelling steps, turns, kicks and leaps—then we knit skills into choreography so progress is visible week by week.

What A Class Looks Like

Ballet & Jazz at Stardust follows a clear, supportive structure so every dancer knows what to expect and how to improve. We begin classes with a warm up to protect growing bodies, then include ISTD set work for each grade (barre and centre) for posture, turnout and balance. After the ballet section of the class we switch to jazz technique—kicks, turns and leaps—developing placement, stamina and style.

Teachers use simple cues, age-appropriate progressions and safe conditioning. Skills are then combined into short combinations and choreography so progress is visible week by week and children get to put the technique and skills they learn into fun dance routines.

Need an adjustment? Tell us—dance is for everyone, and we’ll adapt where helpful so your dancer feels confident and included.
