Half-term's coming, the weather's doing who-knows-what, and you need something that will actually tire them out and light them up. If you're after a half-term or holiday activity for the kids in Northstowe or Cambridge, our dance workshops might be just the thing — and you don't need to dance with us already to come along. Here's a friendly guide to what they involve, who they're for, and how to book.
A Stardust holiday workshop is a themed day (or morning) of dance, games and crafts, run during the school breaks. Each one is built around a theme the children love — think a favourite film, a fairytale or a season — so the dancing, the making and the games all tie together into one happy, memorable day.
They're led by our qualified, Enhanced DBS-checked teachers, the same friendly faces from our weekly classes, so every child is well looked after from the moment they arrive.
Everyone's welcome. You don't need any dance experience, and you don't need to be a current Stardust dancer — lots of children come to a workshop as their very first taste of dance. We group children by age so the day feels right for them, whether they're a confident performer or a shy first-timer who just fancies giving it a go.
For families, a workshop is a lovely way to fill a day of the holidays with something active and creative — and a gentle, low-pressure way to find out whether your child might love a weekly class too.
Every workshop is a little different, but the shape is always the same: busy, creative and fun, with plenty of variety to keep little attention spans engaged. A typical day weaves together:
Beyond simply filling a day, parents tell us the workshops give their children something that sticks:
We run workshops and events across the school breaks — half-term, Easter, Summer and Winter — plus the occasional special performance and community pop-up through the year. Dates and themes change each time, so the best way to catch the next one is to check our events page.
Our workshops run at our Northstowe venues, with free parking on site — an easy trip for families across Northstowe and the surrounding villages, from Longstanton and Oakington to Willingham, Over and Swavesey. You'll find the current dates, times and how to book on our Events & Workshops page.
Ready to fill a day of the holidays with a bit of sparkle? Head to our Events & Workshops page to see what's coming up and book a place. If your child would rather start with a weekly class, you can view the timetable and book a trial instead — whichever suits your family.
Not sure which is right for your child? Message us via our contact page — we're always happy to help.
