How Much Do Children's Dance Classes Cost? A Clear Guide for Northstowe & Cambridge Parents

One of the first things any parent wants to know is simple: what's this going to cost? We think you should be able to find that out easily, without ringing round or reading the small print. Here's exactly how our pricing works — and what you get for the money.

How our pricing works

We charge per class, per week, billed each term rather than as a rolling monthly subscription. That means you only pay for the classes your child is actually enrolled in, and you can see the full cost of a term up front.

Most of our weekly children's classes sit in the region of £6.50 to £8.75 per class, depending on the length of the session and the age group, with a few longer or specialist sessions a little more. Because fees can be reviewed each term, the timetable always lists the current price next to every class, so you're never left guessing.

What's included

Your class fee covers far more than the time on the floor:

  • Qualified, DBS-checked teachers — our principal Miss Hannah is ISTD and UKCA qualified, with first-aid training
  • A structured, progressive curriculum — not just a fun hour, but real skills building term on term
  • A warm, inclusive class with sensible group sizes
  • The chance to take part in shows and performance opportunities across the year

Brothers and sisters

Dancing tends to run in families, so we offer a sibling discount to make it easier when more than one child wants to join. It's one of the reasons so many of our families have two or even three children dancing at the same venue on the same day.

Are there any extra costs?

We work hard to keep surprises to a minimum:

  • Uniform and dancewear are kept simple and are only needed once your child has settled in — never for a first class. See our dancewear guide for what each class needs.
  • Exams are optional. If your child chooses to take an ISTD grade exam, there's a separate exam fee — but there's never any pressure to enter.
  • Shows are optional extras too, with any costs shared clearly and well in advance.

If money is tight

We never want cost to be the reason a child misses out. We run a hardship fund, supported by Cambridge City Council's Active Lifestyles team and our own fundraising, to help families who are finding fees a stretch. If that's you, please just get in touch quietly — these conversations are always confidential.

The best-value way to start

The lowest-risk way to find out if a class is right for your child is to book a trial. You can browse the timetable to see every class with its current price, age group and venue, then book in a couple of minutes. If you're weighing up which class to try first, our guide to choosing the right dance style is a good place to start.
